GRENADA: (1994)
St.George's:
Where to stay:
Lakeside at the end of Lagoon Rd towards Grand Anse is among the very cheapest options you have (US$ 10,-) and it's a good place to stay.
What to do:
The Grand Anse beach is world famous and even though it is a huge beach, it's still crowded. I love nice beaches but I preferred walking in St. George's to spending a day on Grand Anse. St. George's is actually a very nice city and well worth a stroll. The rest of the island is supposed to be very scenic so if you have the time - go explore it!

JAMAICA:  (1994)
Kingston:
Where to stay:
There are a couple of guest Houses on Holborn Rd in New Kingston (Mrs. Johnson at US$ 30,- was the cheapest) but I ended up in Retreat Guest House on 8 Devon Rd (next to Terra Nova) for US$ 20,-. All these guest houses are caged to keep you safe, and it's a weird feeling for sure.
What to do:
You can visit the Bob Marley museum and stroll around. I found the people to be the most fun in Kingston.
Getting there and away:
The regular buses are very cheap and quite frequent, and they go all over the island.

Montego Bay:
Where to stay:
5 min walk from the airport is the very friendly Ridgeway Guest House . It was under construction when I was there ('94) so rooms were maybe cheaper (US$ 25,- after bargaining) than now.
What to do:
The Cornwall Beach is a very pleasant beach with volleyball facilities and a fun bar. Try the famous Pork Pit (ask around) for simple but tasty food. The locals will not leave you alone and many visitours are annoyed by this. Take your time and talk to people (don't get ripped off, though) and keep smiling - you'll have a great time! In Jamaica the rastafarians are true to their religion and are the friendliest and most peace loving people on this planet. You can hire a taxi/minibus for the day and make a trip to St.Anns where Bob Marley's birthplace, home and mausoleum is.
Getting there and away:
Minibuses take you everywhere. They stop regularly along the roads.

Ocho Rios:
Where to stay:
The Hunter's Inn in city center is your cheapest option. However it's run down and hardly worth the US$ 20-25,-. The Hummingbird Haven outside town (20-30 min walk) is very pleasant and you get a twin bed basic cabin for US$ 20,- and you can camp for $ 5,-.
What to do:
You can visit the overcrowded but beautiful Dunn's River Falls.

TRINIDAD & TOBAGO:    (1994)        Photo album is here
I must say that Tobago has been one of my best traveling experiences. The people are the friendliest and most easy going you'll find anywhere, and the island is so beautiful . In the south part there's quite a bit of tourism, but as soon as you get on your way north you'll not see a single resort and only the occasional tourists.

Crown Point:
Where to stay:
The Jetway Holiday Resort 100 meters from the airport is OK at  US$ 25,- and the owner is a friendly guy. However, Stewarts Inn 10 min walk from the Store Bay Beach is only US$ 10,- and even better.
What to do:
A lot of people go to Pigeon Point's beach. This is a touristy place that you have to pay to stay at. Store Bay beach is nice and much more fun. You have the stalls  of great food (Try Bake & Shark, conch in curry or the many different rotis) and the rastafarians' handiwork. I found it very special to watch the pelicans dive for fish during spectacular sunsets, sitting at the very tip of the island at the old fort (bring a cold Carib beer and make the moment complete) .
Getting there and away:
The buses are cheap and take you north to the rest of the island. It's also quite easy to hitch hike on Tobago.

Charlotteville:
Where to stay:
The cheapest by far is the old lady in the most colorful house (Bougainvillea ) in Charlotteville (ask for Mrs. Delphin's bougainvillea - although we're not sure that was her name). She has a small cottage in her garden that can be rented for almost nothing.
What to do:
Enjoy the pleasant atmosphere of this lovely place. Go out with one of the fishermen and try to catch some king fish (ask at the house along the bay where they come and clean their catch everyday) - if you don't catch anything you'll still have a great time and probably you'll see dolphins surfing in the waves of your boat. Make the excursion to lovely secluded Pirate's Bay . It has a beautiful beach and is a small piece of  paradise. Eat like a king at any of the two places in town.

Castara /  Parlatuvier:
Where to stay:
Mr. Chance is your only option in Parlatuvier and you 'll be very lucky to find it vacant. If you do you're in paradise. Parlatuvier is one of this planets top beauty spots and hardly a tourist in sight (you're in the only available room!).
In Castara you have more options.
What to do:
Nothing! Just chill! Actually a fishing trip is easily arranged here (Parlatuvier) also.
